I implement my methods as open-source R packages, so applied researchers can use them right away. All packages are on GitHub.

semnova

semnova analyzes data from repeated measures experimental designs with latent repeated measures ANOVA, a structural equation modeling (SEM) alternative to traditional repeated measures ANOVA. Traditional RM-ANOVA is widely used in psychology and the social sciences to analyze test scores, questionnaire items, reaction times or attitudes. Often, the construct of interest cannot be observed directly, and these measures contain measurement error. Latent RM-ANOVA can use multiple indicators of the same latent construct and is free of measurement error. It can also be used to examine interindividual differences in main and interaction effects of experimental factors, and it brings the other advantages of the SEM framework.

subgroupsem

subgroupsem mines exceptional models. It was developed for structural equation models, but it works with any statistical model, because it optimizes a user-defined function. Given a data set and a set of covariates or grouping variables, subgroupsem uses data-mining algorithms to find subgroups that are exceptional with respect to that criterion. It wraps the Python module pysubgroup by Dr. Florian Lemmerich, interfaced through reticulate.

raise

raise (R with AI for Statistical Education) supports statistics teaching with generative AI. A language model turns a short study description into an example study with simulated data. Every student can get their own data set, and the material can be exported to Moodle as an open educational resource. The project was funded by an Open Science Grant of the Open Science Community Maastricht.

powerANOVA

powerANOVA estimates statistical power in repeated measures ANOVA. It is a companion to the tutorial article on using the paired t-test for power calculations in repeated measures ANOVA with interactions.

sccm

sccm performs causal mediation analysis in single-case experimental designs, using state-space modeling. It is a companion to the article below.
